This media diet may look short, but that’s just because I read the entirety of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. After finishing it, I immediately backed the author Matt Dinniman on Patreon. What a great author and a fantastic series.

๐Ÿ“บ Criminal Record Season 1 - Peter Capaldi & Cush Jumbo make a great combo, but the series lacked something. I enjoyed watching it, but they could have done more about it. (B+)

๐Ÿ“š The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett - I’ve enjoyed Robert Jackson Bennett’s previous books, but this one is different. It’s one of my favorite fantasy books I’ve read in the last few years. It was hard to put down and kept me up late at night reading. I can’t wait for the next books in the series. (A+)

๐Ÿ“บ Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) Season 1 - I’m a huge fan of the original series and begrudgingly gave this a watch. I don’t understand who thought doing a direct remake of the original show, but live-action was a good idea. It adds nothing to the story and does nothing new of value. Switching from a 30-minute to an hour-long format caused many episodes to drag. (C+)

๐Ÿ“š Dungeon Crawler Carl Series by Matt Dinniman - I flew through this series; it’s such a fun and easy read. I read all six books released this month and loved all of them. This is my first discovery of the “LitRPG” genre, and it is one that I’m excited to dive further into. You’ll love this series if you enjoy fantasy books and video games. (A)

๐Ÿ“บ The Dry Season 1 and 2 - After watching The Lovers, I discovered Roisin Gallagher’s other show, The Dry. It is a solid, dark family drama. It is hard to find the episodes online to watch outside of the UK, but it is well worth the effort. (A)

๐Ÿ“บ The Gentleman Season 1 - Peak Guy Ritchie. His style may be better suited for TV than film. I can’t wait to see more of this. (A)
